Physicians:

Our seven Board Certified Oncologists work together to provide you with the best possible cancer care. We treat many kinds of cancer and blood diseases and provide care for patients throughout Western Montana .

Our doctors love living in Montana . They all enjoy different hobbies and varied community activities with their families. They support many cancer charities throughout Western Montana .

Nurses:

Our nurses are also here to work together to provide you with the best possible cancer care. We have oncology certified chemotherapy nurses, radiation therapy nurses, licensed practical nurses and registered medical assistants.

They are here to answer your questions and assist the physicians in administering your therapy. Please don’t hesitate to call them.

Clinical Staff:

We have a well-trained team to administer your Radiation Therapy treatments. Our staff of certified radiation therapists, physicists and dosimetrists all work together with the Radiation Oncologists to plan and administer your Radiation treatments.

Support Staff:

Our EMBERS program of supportive services is here to address the holistic concerns of our patients and their loved ones – addressing Emotions, Mind, Body, Environment, Relationships, and Spirit.

EMBERS has an in-house staff including:

  • Glenn Blumenson, LCSW – Glenn provides 1-on-1 counseling as well as couples and family counseling. His services are available to patients and/or their family members. Glenn’s role is to help patients and their loved ones to cope with emotional concerns including sadness, anxiety, fear, and anger that can arise as a result of a cancer diagnosis.
  • Emily Smith, RD – Emily meets with patients when they begin treatment to provide 1-on-1 nutrition counseling. Emily also provides nutrition intervention when patients have eating concerns or weight loss concerns.
  • Patient Navigator – our Patient Navigator introduces all new patients to the EMBERS program and helps to connect them to supportive services within EMBERS. Our Patient Navigator can also introduce patients and their loved ones to our external partners in the community who can provide complementary treatments and services including acupuncture, mindfulness meditation, exercise and movement programs, art workshops, retreats, support groups, and more. Our Patient Navigator can also assist patients in addressing lodging or transportation concerns.

Our Social Worker Linda Yearous is also available to assist with finding resources you need, including medication and financial assistance, caregiving, FMLA, power of attorney/living will documentation, and more.

The librarian at Providence St. Patrick Hospital is located in The Learning Center on the 1st floor of the Broadway Building. She can assist you and your family in finding reliable medical information. Please stop in and visit our beautiful facility.

We have many other supportive staff members who make the nuts and bolts of our cancer center work.

Pharmacy:

To ensure safe and timely administration of all chemotherapy and other IV medications administered at the Montana Cancer Center, we have two pharmacy technicians with years of experience and an expert pharmacist on-site. All IV medications are mixed in a state-of-the-art sterile pharmacy and triple-checked for patient safety.

Lab:

We have an on-site lab with a trained phlebotomist to ensure your visit with us is convenient and efficient. This allows you to have your lab work completed without leaving our office.
